Our Volunteers Truly Make A Difference:

Prudential Property and Casualty's "Take Our Children To Work Day" sponsored an event in which 85 children, ages 8-12 decorated cards and book marks for our gift boxes.   Rachel Steigerwald, orchestrated the event.

Brownie Troop 3603 from Damascus, MD participated in "Take Me To The Mall" day.  The Brownies hosted a table for shoppers to create note cards and bookmarks for our gift boxes and held a Book Drive at Waldenbooks. 

The JCC of Middlsex County, Jewish Teens Together, sponsored a "Kids Night Out" program and donated money raised form the event to provide boxes for our program in N.J.  

Schools from many states have collected books, created note cards, and donated money to support our programs.  Thanks to each of you for all you've done.  

Families from around the country have selected our gift boxes as centerpieces for their family celebrations and then donated the boxes to hospitals in their area.  Many thanks to each of you for sponsoring so many boxes.

"…We made cards for kids with cancer. It made me feel good because I know that I’m making somebody happy somewhere. It’s also nice to know that somebody has an easier day because of something that you made."

"I think Books, Bears and Bonnets is such a caring program. My uncle and grandma have died of cancer. To give them some nice little presents from sweet kids can change how they feel about their condition. My uncle lost hair and he never wore a hat, but for little kids, I’m glad you gave them some. I just wish that would save their lives…It just warms my heart, even on a freezing winter night, to have been a great giver and not a constant receiver."
